The Beadle County weed board invited Diamond Mowers up to do a demonstration with the Wet Blade near Huron South Dakota in a field infested with Wormwood Sage.

Wormwood Sage is a serious problem in the area and the Wet Blade sounded like an ideal solution, and it was. Once again the Wet Blade performed flawlessly displaying chemical control that is unparalleled in the industry. The day of the demonstration was typical of early fall in South Dakota, very windy and it was raining on and off all day. Try treating a field like this with a broadcast sprayer in those conditions, you simply cannot!

Here you can see where the Wormwood Sage was targeted with the Wet Blade. Dye was added to the chemical so you can see how it is entering the plant at the time of cut.

Even the smallest growth was successfully targeted and treated with the Wet Blade system.

As you can see, any Wormwood that was mowed and treated with the Wet Blade system was killed. A line was superimposed over this image to show the plot lines where different application rates were recorded. The area in the middle was treated with about one gallon per acre of volume and everything that was targeted was killed.

Here are the results from mowing only, there was no chemical applied to this control plot. You can see the regrowth where the plant was cut and no chemical was applied.

No chemical was applied here either, proving that aggressive mowing will not kill Wormwood Sage.

The Wet Blade proves how versatile of a tool it is. It can be used very effectively in the agricultural market by targeting and eliminating invasive species in pasture land, and preserving grass in the pasture for cattle to graze on. The Wet Blade system can be also used safely next to row crops since there is no overspray or soil contamination.

If you have a Wormwood Sage problem, or another invasive species problem, the Wet Blade is a perfect solution to your vegetation management needs. Don't depend on the weather for ideal spraying conditions when you can mow and treat in the wind or the rain with the Wet Blade system!
