The heavy-duty construction of the Armored Maul™ is designed for operators working in tough, rocky terrain. It’s increased inertia through every cut, and added material protecting the carbide teeth, helps reinforce the tooth and protect the tooth holder in extreme environments.

Some of our teeth are interchangeable, giving you flexibility to mix and match while maintaining proper drum balance. Configurations can be customized to maximize the efficiency of their attachment and ensuring you have the right combination for the job. Below are common configurations for the Depth Control and Open Drums.

IMPORTANT – The Armored Maul™ Carbide Teeth are available only as a whole set,
and only on Open Drum Mulchers. They are not Mix & Match or Depth Control Drum compatible.

Thirds

You can choose to configure your depth control drum mulcher with Twin Maul™ carbide teeth on the outer thirds and one of our hardened steel options in the center. This allows for high productivity in the center of the drum, and more durable teeth on the outside where your teeth may make more ground or rock contact. This combination optimizes productivity while minimizing your operating costs.

Alternating

For less rocky terrain, you can opt for alternating hardened steel tooth options. The Twin Chisel™ and Edge™ teeth are extremely easy to sharpen, while the Four-Point tooth offers a more aggressive bit to pull in material more effectively. Alternating these teeth gives you a good balance of productivity and ease of maintenance.
